The Role
We are seeking a skilled Changeover Specialist to join our team. As a Changeover Specialist, you will be responsible for performing equipment and production line changeovers, ensuring that machinery is set up correctly for different production runs.
Key Responsibilities
- Changeover Execution: Perform equipment changeovers on production lines as per the production schedule, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Machine Setup: Set up and adjust machinery and equipment for different production runs, including adjusting settings, changing parts, and ensuring optimal performance.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment during and after changeovers to ensure it is in good working order for the next production run.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during changeovers, collaborating with maintenance teams as necessary to minimize disruptions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of changeovers, machine settings, and any issues encountered during the process.
- Quality Control: Verify that machinery is operating within the specified parameters and that the first run of a new production batch meets quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures during changeovers to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of changeover processes by suggesting and implementing efficiency-enhancing modifications.
- Toolroom Support: Prepare tools for upcoming jobs, disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble compression molding tools as required.
- Quarterly and Annual Machine Overhauls: Work with the technical team to complete quarterly and annual machine overhauls.
- Daily Team Meetings: Participate in daily team meetings to discuss progress and address any concerns.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in machine setup, changeovers, and maintenance.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring machinery is set up correctly and operating within specified parameters.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and document processes.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
