Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist to lead our robust Cardiology Section at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
About the RoleThis is an exceptional opportunity to demonstrate your skills and expertise in leading teams in the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of heart conditions from the common to the complex.
- Lead a multidisciplinary group of advanced heart-failure specialists, electrophysiologists, interventionalists, invasive and noninvasive cardiologists, advanced imaging and structural heart specialists, cardiothoracic surgeons, advanced practitioners, and nurses all dedicated to providing unrivaled cardiac care at one of New Englands highest-volume cardiovascular institutes.
- Collaborate with leadership to provide oversight on the inpatient, hospital, and ambulatory cardiology programs both at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and with community outreach for care coordination.
As Section Chief of Cardiology leading the Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, you will:
- Be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the management and delivery of quality Cardiology services at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and its outpatient clinics.
- Work in collaboration with leadership to provide oversight on the inpatient, hospital, and ambulatory cardiology programs both at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and with community outreach for care coordination.
- Be responsible for creating processes, staff oversight, provider recruitment, and establishing relationships with hospital leaders and services lines.
- Ensure services comply with all hospital and regulatory agency standards and procedures and ensure compliance with all medical functions and maintain all requirements of The Joint Commission and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies.
- In collaboration with the staff/senior leadership team, the Section Chief will have a focus on growing the service lines within the Department. The Chief provides visionary leadership that enhances existing programs and drives the development of new initiatives.
- The incoming Section Chief will be afforded a flexible schedule with a combination of clinical and administrative time.
- Function as a Cardiologist in your area of expertise as a member of the Heart and Vascular Service. Clinical opportunities include but are not limited to non-invasive, electrophysiology, and advanced heart failure cardiology for both inpatient and ambulatory services based upon the providers preferences.
- Perform consults, testing, and provide care in outpatient clinic and hospital settings.
- Hold an academic appointment if desired at University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.

The successful candidate should be:
- Experienced in leadership and clinical Cardiology.
- Interested in all aspects of cardiac care and rehabilitation and teaching fellows, with academic affiliation at UCONN and/or Quinnipiac.
- Interested in a mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities.
- Board Certified in Cardiology.
- Licensed in Connecticut.
- US ACGME residency trained.
