About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the success of our patients and our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the surgical field and deliver supplies and instruments to the surgical team.
  • Assist the surgical team in providing a safe and efficient operating environment.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure a cooperative work environment.
  • Comply with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of scrub experience or equivalent.
  • CPR certification.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist certification will be obtained by the employee within 3 months of employment.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to body fluids, waste, and chemicals. On-call availability, rotating shifts, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds are also required.

This position requires the ability to recognize the needs and behaviors of specific age groups of patients treated. The ability to move heavy patients and equipment, bend, squat, and kneel as needed, and stand for long periods of time is also required.

The ability to respond quickly to emergencies and communicate, cooperate, and work well with others is essential.
