Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Library Associate 2 to join our team at the Camarillo Public Library. As a key member of our circulation team, you will provide excellent customer service, assist patrons with locating materials, and perform a variety of technical and paraprofessional duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to library patrons
  • Assist patrons with locating materials, using computers, and explaining procedures
  • Check in and process library materials as necessary
  • Accept and process fines, fees, or other payments
  • Provide information regarding programs, events, and conference rooms
  • Shelve library materials
  • Address or escalate patron conduct or safety issues to management
  • Support the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights and Freedom to Read Statement
  • Follow all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of library experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of library systems and databases preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Multilingual speaking a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends
