About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team at Cleveland Clinic Akron General. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in the Operating Room
  • Participate in ongoing assessments and recognize changes in patient condition, responding appropriately
  • Develop and update patient care plans, involving patients and families in the planning process
  • Coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate
  • Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document patient information
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Successfully complete mandatory clinical competencies annually
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • One year of Operating Room experience as a Registered Nurse
Physical Requirements
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
