Position Overview

The Multi-Domain Solutions Division at Leidos is seeking a Chief Systems Engineer to oversee our technical initiatives.

While preference is given to candidates in Northern Virginia, remote applicants will also be considered. This role is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic technical leadership for Network Management initiatives.
  2. Oversee technical planning, system architecture, hardware-software-network design management, development, integration, verification, validation, and deployment. Assess alternatives, including cost, risk, and supportability, while conducting comprehensive systems analyses.
  3. Collaborate with Air Force, industry partners, and research centers to ensure program network requirements and operational goals are achieved.
  4. Facilitate integration with other industry performers within a broader system-of-systems framework.
  5. Conduct gap analyses of existing capabilities and network deployments.
  6. Promote technical and programmatic information exchange to support program objectives.
  7. Engage in Working Groups and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), participating in both informal and formal technical discussions and reviews.
  8. Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and reference architectures.
  9. Document interfaces and standards, leading teams to ensure high customer satisfaction and uphold Leidos' positive brand image.
  10. Ensure compliance with Leidos policies and procedures.
  11. Exemplify moral and ethical leadership through personal conduct.
  12. Foster a culture aligned with Leidos values, emphasizing ethical and respectful behavior.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  2. In-depth knowledge of systems engineering principles, particularly in Department of Defense contexts.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with customers, domain experts, and systems engineers.
  4. Proven ability to engage in cross-functional planning and coordination for system integration activities.
  5. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams possessing varying technical expertise.
  6. Familiarity with Cloud and Edge Computing, Networks, Tactical Communications, Data Management, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, and C4ISR systems integration.
  7. Experience in designing and deploying network devices and infrastructure.
  8. Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira and Confluence).

Clearance Requirement:

  1. Must hold a minimum of a Secret clearance with the capability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with ABMS or JADC2 initiatives.
  2. Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM).
  3. Background in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  4. Experience with SAFe Agile implementation.
  5. Prior involvement in Department of the Air Force programs.
  6. Experience with complex multi-domain systems.
  7. Knowledge of large weapons systems and command and control platforms across the DoD portfolio.
