As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at UPMC Chautauqua, you will be responsible for performing imaging procedures at a technical level, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. You will also be responsible for:

  • Demonstrating a strong ability to interact with patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.
  • Communicating instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner, explaining procedures to help alleviate patients' fears and solicit their cooperation.
  • Maintaining accurate records of the receipt, use, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Identifying patients properly using two patient identifiers and utilizing universal protocol when performing procedures.
  • Reviewing patient history and assessing physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program or candidate meets NMTCB alternate eligibility criteria.
  • ARRT(N) or CNMT registry or registry eligible, with registry within 12 months of hire.
  • CPR or BLS certification required.
