Job Summary
This position requires a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a structural fitter. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing metal structures and components in accordance with blueprints and specifications. Key duties include cutting, fitting, and welding metal parts, inspecting for quality, and coordinating with welders and other trades to ensure the structural integrity of the project.

Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role are to perform structural fitting functions with the following objectives:
• Perform structural fitter assignments as assigned by the supervisor or foreman
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all safety protocols
• Notify the supervisor or foreman of any safety and/or structural issues that may arise during the workday

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of one year of experience as a structural fitter (shipyard experience is preferred but not required). You must also be able to perform simple paperwork tasks, such as filling out forms and logs. Additionally, you should have good judgment skills and be able to take direction from the supervisor or manager. A high school diploma or equivalent is also required. Furthermore, proficiency in English and Spanish is essential for effective communication with colleagues and supervisors.

Work Environment
This role involves working in a shipyard environment, which can be physically demanding and require exposure to varying temperatures, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid conditions. You will also need to adapt to temperature changes and work at heights, climb stairs and ladders, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Regular attendance and punctuality are required, and you must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job and location.

Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
