Veterinary Technician Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our dental department at GARDEN STATE VETERINARY SPECIALIST EATONTOWN. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our multispecialty practice.
Responsibilities- Assist with general anesthesia and sedated procedures, dental scaling, probing, and other dental-related tasks.
- Set up CRIs, calculate medical math, and place IV catheters as needed.
- Position patients for radiographs and ensure radiation safety.
- Provide quality, compassionate care for hospitalized patients, including preparing and administering transfusions.
- Maintain accurate treatment sheets and anesthesia records.
- Understand and apply capnography, pulse oximetry, ECG, and blood pressure monitoring.
- Obtain and prepare blood samples for diagnostic testing.
- Provide client education on at-home care and other related topics.
- CVT/LVT/RVT certification or a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Veterinary Technician.
- Comprehensive understanding of anesthetic monitoring and proficiency in processing laboratory specimens.
- Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges.
- Commitment to mentoring and training veterinary assistants.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
