Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the CVICU during the designated shift. In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serving as a resource person for staff and modeling a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the CVICU, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
