Exciting Hospitalist Opening in Eastern Maine

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to become a vital part of our Hospitalist team in Eastern Maine.
- Enjoy a balanced work schedule with one week on and one week off.
- Typical hours include rounding at the hospital from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with on-call responsibilities for the remainder of the day and evening.
- Must have hospitalist experience as a BE or BC Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician.
- This is an employed position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
- Average daily patient census is approximately 14, with daily admissions ranging from one to four.
- A significant portion of inpatients are skilled/swing and/or days waiting placement, which do not require daily visits.
- All admissions are processed through the Emergency Department.
- Our facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital with no ICU and an active 10-bed Emergency Department.
- Patient demographics include intermediate care beds, medical/surgical patients, observation cases, and swing beds.
- Utilize Meditech Expanse for electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with a strong team of nursing and support staff.
- Participate in after-hours call as needed.
- Shift work is available for those interested in picking up additional shifts, ranging from 4 to 10 shifts per month (24-hour shifts with rounding and after-hours call).
Collaboration and Care:
Work closely with nurses, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes. Conduct regular patient rounds, evaluate progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary, including ordering diagnostic tests and implementing appropriate interventions. Ensure timely and thorough documentation of patient care. Participate in care conferences and family meetings to discuss care plans and address any concerns.
The base salary ranges from $275,000 to $325,000, with opportunities for additional earnings by taking on office hours during weekdays.
