Development Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Development Manager is a key member of our fundraising team responsible for securing philanthropic support through special events, corporate and individual donor solicitations, and grant writing.

This full-time position reports to the Northern Ohio Chapter Executive Director and requires evening and weekend availability.


ABOUT A KID AGAIN:
A Kid Again fosters hope, happiness, and healing for kids with life-threatening conditions and their families through cost-free, care-free visits to amusement parks, sporting events, museums, holiday parties, and more.

We serve any child, birth to age 20, with a life-threatening condition, and their whole family, including parents and siblings, so they can take a time out from illness.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT.

Build relationships with individuals and companies to align their giving priorities with program and fundraising objectives of the chapter.

Manage an active donor portfolio, submitting regular requests for support, stewarding relationships, and tracking activity in the organization's donor database.

Portfolio size can range from mid-level and lower-level donors, as well as cultivation of new donors up to $25,000.


GRANT PROSPECTING.

Work with the organization's grant writer to prospect, prioritize, and develop requests to submit to new and existing supporters within the chapter's territory.
FUNDRAISING EVENTS.

Manage the chapter's fundraising events by developing committees, securing sponsorships and donations, acquiring auction items, and coordinating event logistics.
COMMUNITY.

Build relationships with community and government leaders to enhance A Kid Again's brand and secure funding.
MISSION ENGAGEMENT.

Support chapter programs as an opportunity to invite and engage donors to see the mission in action.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (nonprofit preferred).

3-5 years of non-profit fundraising experience with success in prospecting, cultivating, and stewarding relationships, launching and running fundraising events, working with high-level leaders and companies in the community, developing and engaging committees, and requiring good communication, relationship building, and organizational skills.

Strong computer skills, particularly with experience working in Raiser's Edge/Blackbaud (or other donor database) and Microsoft Office.

Adobe and/or Canva experience a plus.
