Job Summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to families and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities
  • Provide primary medical management and emergency stabilization of critically ill neonates and infants
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and NICU Unit Director to develop and implement medical and nursing care plans
  • Participate in daily rounds and manage a caseload of patients in the NICU
  • Provide education and support to families, staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Develop and implement research methodologies to improve patient outcomes
  • Assume a leadership role to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and improve patient care
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field
  • 2 years of related nursing experience
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License in the state of practice
  • Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner through the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCC)
  • BCLS certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Eligibility for limited prescriptive authority in the state of practice
  • Knowledge of APRN procedures specific to the role
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 24/7, weekends, and holidays
