About the Role:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team at Wacker Chemical Corporation. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical and automation engineering work to maintain and continuously improve the performance of multiple chemical production units and related auxiliary systems in our fumed silica department (HDK).

Key Responsibilities:

This position provides engineering and technical services to Operations and additional service units in order to assure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and to maximize the availability and efficiency of these units. Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Maximizing the availability of production units at required capacity and quality
• Supporting and maintaining instrumentation and automation for the production units
• Consulting and supporting capital projects executed by project engineering
• Supporting process and technology transfer between Wacker HDK production sites
• Supporting engineering team on capital invest and expense type projects within area of responsibility
• Conducting or coordinating debottlenecking and troubleshooting activities
• Becoming an expert capable of exercising Electrical & Instrumentation engineering judgement with respect to the process areas of responsibility and assigned subject matters
• Driving and supporting continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost
• Supporting development of specifications, standards, and codes
• Developing and supporting preventative maintenance plans such as ITPMs

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Computer Science Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering experience. You will also need to have thorough technical knowledge in the field of electrical or instrumentation engineering including relevant regulations, standards, and codes. Additionally, you will need to have basic understanding of engineering principles and construction practices, objective judgement and fact-based decision-making approach, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams, strong multitasking competency, ability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure, team player attitude, and capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Siemens Drives/PLC, Delta V and E&H Instrumentation and automation is preferred. Must be physically fit to wear an air purifying respirator if necessary.
