About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our Silicones team in Charleston, TN. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical and automation engineering work to maintain and continuously improve the performance of multiple chemical production units and related auxiliary systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical and automation engineering work to maintain and improve production unit performance
  • Provide engineering and technical services to Operations and additional service units to ensure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and maximum availability and efficiency
  • Support and cooperate with fellow Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) Engineering counterparts to ensure safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance
  • Maximize production unit availability and quality
  • Support and maintain instrumentation and automation for production units
  • Consult and support capital projects executed by project engineering
  • Support process and technology transfer between WACKER HDK production sites
  • Support engineering team on capital invest and expense type projects
  • Conduct or coordinate debottlenecking and troubleshooting activities
  • Develop and support preventative maintenance plans
  • Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering and Maintenance teams, within Operations, and other service units to achieve optimal results and solutions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Computer Science Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Thorough technical knowledge in the field of electrical or instrumentation engineering, including relevant regulations, standards, and codes
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and construction practices
  • Objective judgement and fact-based decision-making approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams
  • Strong multitasking competency
  • Ability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure
  • Team player attitude
  • Capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Siemens Drives/PLC, Delta V and E&H Instrumentation and automation
  • Must be physically fit to wear an air purifying respirator if necessary
