EHS Specialist

The primary focus of this role is to deliver comprehensive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) support for various new product initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Adhere to safe working practices and reinforce the safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures established by the organization.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Assist in identifying potential risks; assess the likelihood of such risks; develop and implement corrective measures, and audit these measures to ensure their effectiveness.
- Ensure that contractors on-site comply with company policies and safety standards.
- Foster, oversee, and sustain EHS compliance across the site.
- Provide guidance, support, and auditing to line management to ensure effective EHS practices are in place.
- Contribute to the Site Training Plans by facilitating employee orientations, emergency response training, and coordinating modular training sessions for operations.
- Support the maintenance of Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures.
- Coordinate regulatory programs and assist in the compliance process; provide support to the environmental department as needed.
- Assist in drafting permit applications and collaborate with the environmental team to ensure compliance with permit reporting obligations.
- Review incidents and accidents within the area of responsibility, conducting field audits, and managing corrective actions.
- Maintain organized records regarding employee training and safety protocols.
- Ensure effective chemical management practices are upheld for both new and existing product lines, as well as for current laboratories.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA Regulations.
- Extensive experience in managing and handling chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety or Environmental Sciences.
- Completion of OSHA 10 or 30-hour training course.
- EHS Professional Certification.
