Job Title: Director of Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses to lead our dedicated team in Kansas City, Missouri.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. As the Director of Medical-Surgical, you will oversee the daily operations of the unit, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care. This role involves strategic planning, staff management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to achieve departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Medical-Surgical unit
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent patient care in compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of nursing professionals
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to enhance patient care services
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes to ensure the highest standards of care
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency
  • Manage budgetary and financial responsibilities for the unit
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation processes
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field preferred
  • Current RN license in the state of Missouri or eligibility for licensure
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in a medical-surgical setting
  • Previous leadership or management experience required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of implementing successful quality improvement initiatives
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
