Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Cardiology. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality cardiovascular care to our members in a cost-effective manner, adhering to accepted professional practice standards and collaborating with other members of the Cardiovascular Healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Review cardiac patients to evaluate appropriateness of workup and treatment plans, ensuring the appropriate level of care is provided.
  • Perform cardiology consultations when indicated or requested, completing histories and physicals, reviewing cardiac studies, ordering diagnostic studies and medications, providing pre-procedure education, writing admitting orders, and scheduling procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Cardiovascular Service line to provide comprehensive outpatient cardiovascular care, including initial consultation/evaluation, ongoing management of chronic cardiovascular disease, and providing outpatient clinic follow-up for patients discharged following cardiac procedures.
  • Order tests and medications, order therapy and rehabilitation services, provide post-procedure education, write discharge and transfer orders, and dictate discharge summaries as needed.
  • Actively participate in message management, including physician in-basket and virtual care of the patient.
Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in cardiovascular, critical care, or emergency room experience as a PA/NP, or minimum of three (3) years in Cardiology as a PA/NP, or minimum of three (3) years as a Registered Nurse in Cardiology or Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) or Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) or Cardiovascular Lab (CVL).
  • Graduate of ANA-approved Nurse Practitioner or AMA-approved Physician Assistant program or equivalent requirements to meet State licensure.
  • Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License (Washington) within 6 months of hire, Nurse Practitioner National Certificate, Registered Nurse License (Washington) within 6 months of hire, Registered Nurse License (Oregon) within 6 months of hire, and Nurse Practitioner License (Oregon) within 6 months of hire, or Physician Assistant License (Washington) within 6 months of hire, Physician Assistant National Certificate, and Physician Assistant License (Oregon) within 6 months of hire.
