Job Summary

As a key member of our Clinical Trials Office, you will be responsible for collecting, processing, and shipping research samples for clinical trials. Responsibilities
  • Obtain blood specimens by established venipuncture and capillary techniques, and perform ECGs when necessary.
  • Follow procedures and work practices related to collection, processing, storage, and shipment of research specimens as defined in lab manuals, protocols, and study-specific reference materials.
  • Responsible for validation of SP requests and preparation of kits and other materials for specimen collections per standard lab practices.
  • Ensure specimen integrity through appropriate handling and accurate labeling of specimens, related requisitions, and documentation.
  • Responsible for primary trial assignments and related duties, including trial start-up, in-depth knowledge of trial requirements, maintenance of notes and study reference materials, and inventory management.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with all groups within the CTO, Sponsors, and Clinic/Hospital Staff.
  • Able to work independently, demonstrate adequate problem-solving skills, and awareness of available resources.
  • Manage time and workload efficiently and prioritize workflow effectively, able to assess workload and delegate responsibilities to other team members when appropriate.
  • Adhere to safe laboratory practices while maintaining a clean and organized work space.
  • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures and Work Practice Documents.
  • Assist in the training/re-training of employees, mentoring, and continuing education/certification for current employees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or other scientific discipline or equivalency.
  • Two years full-time laboratory experience.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of advanced scientific techniques and procedures, as well as the ability to make statistical calculations, analyze results, prepare reports, and perform specialized tests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Positive attitude and a positive representative of CTO.
  • Demonstrated team orientation, strong organizational skills, and effective communication.
  • Professional maturity in communication, self-conduct, behavior, dress, ethics, and decision-making.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and paying attention to details.
  • Able to resolve issues with co-workers, CRCs, RDCs, Central Labs, and Sponsors with minimal input from management and leadership.
  • Proficiency using Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Internet applications.
