JOB DESCRIPTION

Clean Harbors is seeking a Class B Driver (Retail Technician) to deliver essential environmental services, which include the collection and disposal of damaged, discarded, or recalled items; recycling of various materials such as light bulbs, oil, oil filters, and engine fluids; as well as conducting on-site cleanup operations. Clean Harbors will cover the costs for your CDL B training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize Health and Safety by adhering to all safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Collect, pack, and transport damaged and recalled products.
  • Load, pack, and segregate materials and waste for safe transportation.
  • Operate a Box Truck while visiting various retail customer locations.
  • Segregate, pack, and load materials for safe transit.
  • Engage with customers at each stop to ensure satisfaction.
  • Prepare necessary shipping documents in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Utilize technology such as laptops, printers, handheld devices, and smartphones to complete tasks.
  • Execute projects in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Ensure all projects are prepared and approved before shipment, following OSHA, EPA, and DOT guidelines.
  • Understand specific disposal restrictions and packaging requirements for customers.
  • Maintain accurate drum counts and ensure drum conditions meet shipping standards.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and company policies.
  • Adhere to all corporate environmental health and safety guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver's license is mandatory.
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Proficiency in using laptops, handheld devices, printers, and smartphones.
  • Eligible to obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire, at company expense.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks as required by the job.
  • Successful completion of a background check, drug test, and physical examination.
  • Compliance with OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard regarding facial hair.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in commercial driving.
  • Familiarity with route driving.
  • Background in manual labor.
