Elementary Music Instructor

Position Overview:

Bannister Creek Primary School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Specialist Teacher to lead our esteemed music program. This role is pivotal in fostering a love for music among students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging music curricula that cater to diverse learning needs.
• Direct the Junior and Senior Choirs, as well as the School Band, ensuring high-quality performances.
• Coordinate the Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) program, enhancing students' musical skills.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and community members to promote music education during school events.
• Utilize effective behavior management strategies and trauma-informed practices to create a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A strong foundation in music-specific pedagogies, including the Orff-Schulwerk approach.
• Proven leadership skills to inspire and engage students in meaningful music-making experiences.
• The ability to design and implement culturally responsive music programs.
