Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals by taking vital signs, assisting with medical examinations, and providing translation services.
  • Cover varying shifts and locations within our clinics and mobile medical van, including evening and Saturday schedules.
  • Prepare patients for examination and assist clinicians with procedures.
  • Take vital signs, height, and weight of patients, plot growth charts, and record immunizations.
  • Perform simple laboratory and screening tests, such as visual acuity, audiometric screening, and EKGs.
  • Set up instrument trays for special procedures and perform laboratory tests.
  • Provide counseling, care, and follow-up instructions to patients as instructed by providers.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification from an approved school or hospital.
  • Minimum five years of back office or three years of specialty practice experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Valid California driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of community health centers, public assistance programs, state and federal regulations, and managed care systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
  • Experience with computers, Microsoft Office products, and business communication systems.
