Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the alignment of health information management services with organizational priorities.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with health information requirements established by regulatory bodies, laws, and industry standards.
  • Representation and Collaboration: Represent our organization in division-wide efforts to meet regulatory requirements and improve the quality of health information records and services.
  • Record Management and Security: Oversee the care, custody, and security of stored medical records, and track the location of medical records when they are properly released for use by care providers.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Substantial experience in the health information management field, with significant experience as a manager of a HIM department.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Detail knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and health information management best practices.
  • Coding and Technology: Current knowledge of ICD9 and CPT4 coding systems, and strong experience with computerization and technology advances in health information.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment and lead cross-functional teams.
