Physician Assistant

Wellpath is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality medical care to underserved populations in correctional facilities. As a Physician Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physician to provide medical care and treatment to inmates, addressing behavioral health disorders and other medical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily sick call, carry out treatments, and follow standardized procedures and protocols.
- Provide emergency care for identified medical emergencies and coordinate patient transfers to appropriate facilities.
- Treat and manage non-psychotic behavioral health disorders and provide ongoing care for patients on maintenance doses of non-psychotic medications.
- Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, document findings using the S.O.A.P.E. method, and attend quarterly Quality Management meetings.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in nursing or an accredited education program for PAs.
- Previous correctional/detention facility experience.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience.
- Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration.
- Current lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA.
