Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathology Assistant will play a vital role in supporting speech/language therapy services under the direction of a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist. This role includes assisting patients in developing language skills, providing clerical support in an outpatient therapy clinic, and working closely with the multidisciplinary team.


Responsibilities
  • Assist in supplementing, enhancing, and extending speech/language therapy services by completing tasks such as direct activities with patients designed to develop pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control for speech production, vocalization, and use of assistive technology devices for communication.
  • Serve as a receptionist and clerical support in outpatient therapy clinic settings.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's Degree from a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or a Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders with a minimum of 70 hours field work/clinical experience from a board-approved program.
  • Licensure as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant in the State of South Dakota.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $21.00 - $30.25 per hour, depending on experience. The schedule consists of Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, with 56 hours every two weeks.
