Mohs Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mohs Technician to join our Dermatology team at Billings Clinic. As a Mohs Technician, you will play a critical role in the delivery of patient care and treatment, performing laboratory and histology duties, and assisting with surgical procedures.

• Assist in the care of surgical patients by performing the scrub role of handling instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Work collaboratively with the Physician and Dermatology staff to meet the physical, psychosocial, educational, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Prepare laboratory solutions and reagents according to established procedures and exact formula to maintain adequate quantities for daily work assignments.
• Record and review quality control data and case logs, utilizing performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality.
• Assist with scheduling admissions, appointments, diagnostic tests, treatments, procedures, and surgery, and screen incoming telephone calls for appropriate referrals to nurse, physician, and/or non-physician provider.
• Provide instruction to patients as directed by physician, non-physician provider, or documented in policies and procedures.
• Maintain patient files, records, and other information, adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.

• High School or GED
• 1 year work experience in the Billings Clinic Mohs surgical area to develop a detailed understanding and proficiency in Dermatology and MOHS procedures, MOHS histologic techniques, and equipment and processes encompassing all age groups.
• Preferred: LPN or Medical Assistant, Certified
