Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Painter to join our team. As a Commercial Painter, you will be responsible for applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply paint to surfaces using brushes, spray guns, or paint rollers.
  • Smooth surfaces and remove old paint to prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler.
  • Select and mix paints to match specified colors.
  • Remove fixtures and apply paint to create special effects.
  • Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
  • Measure and cut strips from roll of wallpaper or fabric.
  • Mix paste to desired consistency and apply to back of wallpaper or fabric.
  • Place paste-coated strips on wall or ceiling and smooth joints.
  • Wear necessary protective equipment, including respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of painting experience preferred.
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and blueprints.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to work at heights from a ladder and a lift.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and nights.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position will involve working in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions. You will be exposed to fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise levels.
