Blaster Painter

At Point Eight Power, we are seeking a skilled Blaster Painter to join our team. As a Blaster Painter, you will be responsible for preparing parts and welded assemblies by blasting and painting to stage in order to finish the product, and meet defined production standards, schedules, and quality requirements.

• Staging metal parts and welded assemblies on racks in preparation for blasting, painting, and assembly processes.
• Operating equipment that directs a flow of abrasive-laden compressed air over the surface of sheet metal parts to remove scale, grease, rust, dirt, and other debris.
• Mixing primers and paints, and spraying prepared surfaces as per drawing specifications.
• Unloading dried parts and staging for assembly.
• Examining finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications and documents for quality control.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Ensuring quality and efficiency by completing the job task faster than estimated hours.

• 3 years of experience in blasting and painting in a commercial or industrial industry.

• Strong knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming such as Microsoft Office Business Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

• The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
• The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
• The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
