Join Our Team as a Security Services Officer

Position Overview: As a Security Services Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our healthcare environment. This position is essential for maintaining a secure atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver security services with integrity, fairness, and empathy, even in challenging situations. Your professional demeanor will instill confidence in all stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular patrols both inside and outside the facility to identify vulnerabilities and ensure safety. This includes inspections, audits, and managing patient valuables.
  • Respond to incidents of workplace violence and provide de-escalation support as needed.
  • Be prepared to manage emergency situations, including fire threats and potential abductions, with immediate and effective responses.
  • Document incidents accurately and timely, addressing complaints and escalating issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Engage in proactive liaison duties to foster partnerships across departments and enhance overall security awareness.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and first responders to ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date training in all required safety protocols and equipment usage.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Security Officer in the healthcare field is required within two years of employment.
  • A valid driver's license and appropriate firearm permits are necessary.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous experience in security or public safety is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to carry a department-approved firearm and maintain compliance with training standards.
  • Strong judgment and reasoning skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the role, including lifting and restraining individuals when necessary.
