About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Paramedic to join our Emergency Medical Services team at Ascension Saint Thomas. As a Critical Care Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients in emergency situations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients.
  • Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
  • Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
  • Provide population-specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
  • Inspect, maintain, and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients, and public.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Paramedic specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the Tennessee Emergency Medical Services Division obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
