Position Overview:

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Healthcare Provider is responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care in alignment with established medical protocols and practices. This role focuses on promoting health and managing both acute and chronic health conditions. Collaborating closely with physicians, the Healthcare Provider will offer medical services, gather and document patient data, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and provide direct patient care services, including physical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education Required:

Completion of an accredited nursing program with a current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with a valid license from the Georgia State Composite Board.


Minimum Experience Required:

No prior experience is necessary.


Minimum Licensure/Certification Required by Law:

Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia or licensure for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP, FNP, WHNP). Updated NCCPA certification for PAs is required.


Additional Qualifications:

CPR/ACLS certification.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist in identifying medical and surgical issues, prescribing necessary treatments, and ensuring high-quality patient care. Review diagnostic tests and take appropriate actions based on individual scope of practice. Engage in research activities as a Primary Investigator or Sub-Investigator in clinical trials and registries.
  • Gather patient histories, perform physical examinations, and document findings in patient records; write progress notes; prepare comprehensive patient workups and summaries highlighting significant findings; obtain psychosocial histories relevant to patient care, and foster therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature, and expected outcomes of scheduled procedures to patients. Secure written patient consents and communicate with specialists as required.
  • Execute therapeutic procedures such as cast application and removal, wound suturing, and dressing changes; monitor patient progress, report findings to the supervising physician, and maintain detailed records of each patient's progress, consulting with the supervising physician when progress does not align with expected outcomes.
  • Formulate diagnoses and develop treatment plans for patients. Provide education on disease management and healthy lifestyle choices. Conduct follow-up examinations post-procedures, hospitalizations, or surgeries.
  • Offer clinical expertise and serve as a resource for office clinical staff in the absence of physicians.
