About the Role

The City of Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Project Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating tasks related to large construction, maintenance, or rehabilitation projects for City infrastructure and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage specific tasks related to assigned components at various stages of a project, ensuring timely and quality completion.
  • Oversee contracted third-party service providers to ensure timely and quality delivery of services.
  • Conduct field inspections and tests.
  • Prepare, receive, and review construction and engineering plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to project management teams and those in the field.
  • Apply for and maintain required permits.
  • Perform engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and preliminary design of gravity sewer collection systems and water distribution systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited school.
  • One (1) year of related work experience in design or technical planning experience demonstrating responsibility for the coordination of tasks in civil engineering or municipal capital improvement projects.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Prefers certification as an Engineering Intern (or equivalent credentials in field of specialty).
