Overview
The Head of IT Systems Management will define the strategic direction for overseeing information technology across the organization. This role involves close collaboration with executive leadership to ensure that IT capabilities are aligned with the overall business objectives. The Head of IT Systems Management is tasked with developing the network architecture and platform to deliver services, maintaining productive relationships with vendors, managing budgets, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring security compliance with all necessary controls. Additionally, this position is responsible for disaster recovery management. With extensive experience in implementing systems that foster business growth and scalability, the Head of IT Systems Management will work alongside Business Unit leaders to formulate and execute a strategy that supports the evolving technical infrastructure of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a vital partner to the business by collaborating with various departments, including operations, finance, program management, and analytics, to ensure the effective operation of IT systems and tools in alignment with corporate goals.
- Lead and manage all phases of the development of new applications, overseeing processes, systems, tools, vendors, and their performance. Strong leadership and execution capabilities will enable the Head of IT Systems Management to drive projects to completion within established budgets and timelines.
- Serve as the systems administrator for legacy platforms, working with Business Unit leaders to optimize legacy platform performance and facilitate migration to new applications.
- As the technical steward of the company's CRM system, the Head of IT Systems Management will oversee system maintenance, gather business requirements, translate them into new systems and processes, and ensure system reliability and data integrity.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to plan for the integration of platforms for any new acquisition targets and lead the IT component of M&A due diligence.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs, defining solutions that support business processes and bringing those designs to fruition.
- Coordinate with necessary resources to troubleshoot IT system issues, demonstrating the ability to achieve successful resolutions for all stakeholders.
- Manage the hardware and software infrastructure of the organization, continuously optimizing to enhance efficiency while minimizing costs.
- Support Sales, Business Unit leaders, and executive leadership in customer-facing meetings to showcase and enhance the value proposition of the company's IT applications and processes.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and business unit leaders to create strategic plans for future growth.
- Advise and participate in strategy sessions to develop and implement new technologies.
- Stay informed about advancements in IT technology, including emerging trends such as AI.
- Ensure accurate collection, maintenance, and reporting of departmental performance statistics.
- Establish and manage budget and capital expense reporting.
- Set the strategic direction, optimize team performance, and lead department staff through empowerment, delegation, and accountability.
- Effectively manage multiple projects, providing guidance on the integration of technology infrastructure, user support, administrative systems, and external access.
- Optimize department resources to ensure effective allocation and utilization of technology and systems.
- Develop and maintain service-level specifications (KPIs) and foster effective business relationships with IT vendors to secure optimal technology solutions and financial arrangements.
- Create KPIs and SLAs to monitor and manage IT vendor performance.
- Develop a strategy to ensure that IT applications and infrastructure can scale with the company's needs, focusing on data security, network infrastructure, server infrastructure, and storage.
- Formulate operation and maintenance plans, including production support.
- Partner with leadership to develop and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan for data, hardware, and IT continuity in the event of business interruptions.
- Collaborate with business teams to identify, monitor, and report on audit controls as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding IT operations and manage vendor licensing requirements.
- Master's degree in information systems, business, or a related field preferred, or a combination of a bachelor's degree with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in CRM administration within a complex, high-growth B2B environment; Salesforce knowledge is a plus.
- 10+ years of operational IT management experience.
- Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated capability to manage and execute complex development projects, driving them to completion within budget and timeline constraints.
- Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on systems and processes.
- Extensive knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations.
- Experience in the claims processing sector is a plus.

Normal office environment conditions apply. This role primarily requires in-office presence, with occasional evening or weekend work as business needs dictate.
Travel Requirements
Travel is mainly local during business hours, with the possibility of occasional out-of-area and overnight travel as needed.
