Job Description

This is an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership.

Job Responsibilities
  • Train as an Engineering Technician 3 within HII-Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated HII Supervisor.
  • Learn the maintenance actions and duties required of our Engineering Technicians in support of the various Newport News Direct Support (NNS DS) customers.
  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
  • Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
  • Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas.
  • Use personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports.
  • May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
Requirements
  • Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service.
  • Secret Clearance.
  • Navy Reactor Department experience - 5 years.
  • Desired US Navy rates: MMN, EMN, ETN or conventional MM, EM, ET.
