Position Overview

UHS is a leading provider of behavioral health services, dedicated to delivering exceptional care to our patients. We are seeking a dedicated and innovative CERTIFIED RECREATION/ACTIVITY THERAPIST (CTRS) to join our Social Services Team. The Recreation Therapist will play a crucial role in developing and executing activity-based services tailored to the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Recreation Therapist, your primary duties will include:
  • Designing and implementing engaging activity programs that align with treatment goals.
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Providing ongoing observation and support to patients, fostering a therapeutic environment.
  • Documenting patient progress and adapting interventions as necessary.
  • Maintaining a safe and organized therapeutic space, ensuring all supplies and equipment are in good condition.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, Art, Music, Social Work, or a related field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in a psychiatric care setting.
  • Current certification as a CTRS.
  • CPR Certification and completion of Handle with Care training (can be obtained during orientation).
