Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to lead our engineering projects from concept to completion. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing project plans, schedules, and budgets, and overseeing project execution to ensure milestones are achieved on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering projects from concept to completion, serving as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and oversee project execution to ensure milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, leveraging expertise in relevant engineering disciplines to solve complex problems and optimize project outcomes.
  • Conduct technical reviews, analyses, and evaluations to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop designs for water and wastewater infrastructure, including water supply, water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection, wastewater treatment, and spray irrigation systems.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks associated with engineering projects, proactively implementing strategies to minimize potential impacts on project success.
  • Monitor project performance and take corrective actions as needed to address emerging issues and deviations from established plans or budgets.
  • Review and prepare project budgets and schedules. Provide pre-planning and resource forecasting for the engineering and operations departments relating to the projects.
  • Supervise the preparation of Engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Accounting, and Safety, to align engineering activities with broader organizational objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure alignment of project priorities.
  • Collect and analyze data, reducing alternative solutions, and preparing and writing reports and design documents to support conclusions.
  • Coordinate and manage aspects of construction projects, submittals, deliverables, reviews, and approvals against contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with the GIS and Survey departments to attain data for planning, design, and permitting of projects.
  • Request and evaluate proposals from various consultants and contractors.
  • Provide support to other project teams and engineers.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of standard operating procedures to improve the organization and efficiency of the Engineering Department.
  • Provide liaison services with regulatory agencies, including preparation of permit applications and required reports.
  • Maintain a sound working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to facilitate their professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics.
  • Professional Engineer Registration (PE) in the States of Delaware and Maryland is preferred and/or equivalent professional/engineering design experience in a comparable field.
  • 5+ years of applicable experience in the Engineering field.
  • Proven track record of successful project leadership and execution in a technical engineering environment.
  • Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $130,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We also provide relocation assistance for out-of-state candidates.
