Position Overview:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design Management: Oversee the engineering of piping, ventilation, heating, cooling, exhaust systems, and process chemical systems tailored for advanced manufacturing equipment within compact industrial environments.
  • System Upgrades: Modify current facility systems to accommodate new machinery, including performing calculations, sizing equipment, and preparing specifications.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with client design teams, equipment manufacturers, and stakeholders to develop utility requirement documents and comprehensive installation plans.
  • Technical Support: Provide training, quality assurance, and direct assistance throughout the design and construction phases, with potential responsibilities for Professional Engineer (PE) stamping of designs.
  • Site Engagement: Interact with clients and contractors to facilitate construction activities at the project site.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical facilities engineering, encompassing HVAC, hydronics, process piping, and exhaust systems.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California or eligibility to obtain licensure within a short timeframe.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing facilities or similar environments, particularly cleanrooms.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A proactive approach to learning and introducing innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and a genuine interest in construction.
  • Field experience in an active industrial setting.

Additional Considerations:

  • Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid role, requiring approximately 40% remote work and 60% on-site engagement. Candidates should be within a reasonable commuting distance.
  • Physical Demands: Candidates must be capable of walking long distances, sitting, standing, bending, twisting, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
