Position Summary:

We are in search of a seasoned Security and Safety Operations Manager to oversee the well-being and safeguarding of our personnel, assets, and facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate security or law enforcement and demonstrate exceptional communication skills. In this role, you will be tasked with developing and executing security strategies for our headquarters and additional locations as necessary, managing both active and passive security measures, supervising security personnel, and establishing comprehensive emergency response and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Strategy Development:
    • Collaborate with the Director and Senior Director of Facilities to align security initiatives with company culture and values.
    • Formulate and articulate principles and guidelines, continuously updating best practices in Safety and Security.
    • Identify and engage top-tier security experts and manage long-term partnerships.
    • Design and implement security frameworks for Bandwidth's headquarters, encompassing office spaces, educational facilities, fitness centers, parking areas, and event venues.
    • Assist in budget management and resource planning for operational and capital projects that include safety and security components.
    • Create security protocols for other U.S. and international office locations, ensuring a unified security approach.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to assess security vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigation strategies.
    • Provide guidance on security considerations for corporate travel and office environments.
  • Management of Security Personnel:
    • Oversee the third-party security service responsible for on-site personnel at designated locations.
    • Ensure security staff are adequately trained and equipped to handle various security scenarios.
    • Conduct regular evaluations and audits to ensure high standards of security service delivery.
  • Access Control and Surveillance:
    • Collaborate with the Information Security Team to maintain compliance with regulatory and third-party security standards.
    • Coordinate with the Information Technology Team to manage access control systems, including key card access and visitor management.
    • Oversee the maintenance of security camera systems to monitor activities across campus.
    • Ensure adherence to privacy regulations and ethical standards in handling surveillance data.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management:
    • Develop and regularly revise emergency response plans for various scenarios, including natural disasters and security threats.
    • Lead crisis management teams and coordinate responses during emergencies to protect employees and assets.
    • Conduct routine training exercises, such as fire drills and medical emergency simulations.
    • Establish partnerships with local emergency response teams.
  • Compliance and Training:
    • Stay informed on security industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
    • Deliver security training and awareness programs to enhance the overall security culture within the organization.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant security laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Provide support to team members as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Corporate Security or a related field.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Proven ability to devise and implement security strategies in a corporate setting.
    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Familiarity with access control systems, surveillance technology, and security protocols.
    • Understanding of local security regulations and compliance standards.
    • Experience in crisis management and emergency response.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
