Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Generator Hostels. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall appearance of our building, including replacing broken fixtures, performing general repairs, and ensuring high standards of decor and paintwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the overall appearance of the building, including replacing broken lamps, fixtures, and fittings
  • Perform preventive maintenance throughout all areas of the premise, including front and back of house and rooms
  • Ensure guest comfort, satisfaction, and the overall impression of the hotel
  • Maintain safety and asset register records
  • Take responsibility for all equipment onsite, ensuring it is maintained and ready for use
  • Comply with all statutory local legislation and regulation, including H&S, building regulations, and Fire Safety
  • Ensure social spaces embody the Generator brand and culture
  • Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues and other departments

Requirements:

  • Hands-on attitude with attention to detail
  • Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift, or carry supplies, equipment, or tools weighing up to 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment
  • Skill in the use of related tools, including hand and electric tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the hotel/hospitality industry
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
