Job Overview

Position Summary

Sovah Health is seeking a dedicated professional to manage pre-registration and insurance verification with precision and efficiency. The Pre-registration Registrar will engage with various patient information systems, addressing case-specific concerns and resolving issues related to appointments, financial matters, and clearance for outpatient services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely scheduling of procedures and make necessary adjustments based on patient requests.
  • Reach out to patients to gather demographic and insurance details.
  • Thoroughly search the Master Patient Index (MPI) to assign the correct medical record number and notify medical records of any duplicates.
  • Coordinate with physician offices to resolve issues concerning prior authorizations or referral documentation.
  • Provide patients with essential exam preparation information, including directions and registration times.
  • Review patient visit history to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Utilize the hospital's computer system to document account notes for future reference.
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain necessary precertifications or authorizations.
  • Assist with special projects and business analysis as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills: Strong critical thinking abilities, decisive judgment, and the capacity to work independently in a high-pressure environment. Proficient auditory skills, effective verbal communication, and hand dexterity are essential. Ability to type at least 30 WPM with high accuracy is required.

Physical Demands: This role involves prolonged sitting, bending, and stretching. Normal hearing and eyesight are necessary for recording and preparing reports. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. Work is conducted in an office setting with frequent interaction with staff and the public.

Experience: A minimum of 3 months of on-the-job training is required.
