Position Summary
Sovah Health is seeking a dedicated individual to take on the role of a Nurse Practitioner. This position is essential for ensuring efficient and precise patient pre-registration and insurance verification processes. The Nurse Practitioner will engage with various hospital patient information systems, addressing concerns and resolving issues related to appointments, financial matters, and authorizations for Radiology and other Outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring patient satisfaction.
- Coordinate scheduling for necessary medical services, accommodating patient requests as needed.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance details.
- Thoroughly search the Master Patient Index (MPI) to assign accurate medical record numbers and notify medical records of any duplicates.
- Collaborate with physician offices to address any issues regarding prior authorizations or referral forms.
- Communicate exam preparation details directly to patients, including directions and arrival times.
- Review patient visit history to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Utilize the hospital's computer systems to document account notes for reference.
- Verify insurance benefits and secure necessary precertifications or authorizations.
- Assist with special projects and business analysis as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Skills: Strong critical thinking abilities, decisive judgment, and the capacity to work independently in a high-pressure environment. Proficient auditory skills, effective verbal communication, and manual dexterity are essential. Ability to type at least 30 WPM with high accuracy is required.
Physical Demands: This role requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and manual dexterity for operating office equipment. Normal hearing and vision are necessary for preparing and communicating reports. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required.
Experience: A minimum of 3 months of on-the-job training is necessary.
