Position Overview: Process Engineer

The Process Engineer role is pivotal in providing technical assistance for manufacturing operations, working collaboratively with production teams and other departments to ensure optimal performance. This position focuses on identifying, designing, and executing process improvements aimed at enhancing safety, compliance, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in capital project initiatives, process safety management (PSM) activities, and quality audits.
  • Drive improvements in safety, regulatory adherence, environmental performance, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing troubleshooting and operational support.
  • Evaluate process data and employee insights to resolve operational challenges and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams on various projects and challenges.
  • Develop and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assess production capabilities, capacity, and cost analysis.
  • Oversee smaller capital projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and operational requirements.
  • Support larger capital initiatives by defining project scopes, collecting process data, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify reliability improvement opportunities, assist with maintenance tasks, and ensure adherence to PSM regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage management of change (MOC) processes for operational modifications.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions stemming from audits and investigations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical disciplines.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in production, maintenance, and quality support, ideally within heavy industry sectors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks autonomously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in equipment reliability and/or automation processes.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification or relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and/or Minitab.
