Responsibilities

• Promote safety as the number one priority, and quality as the number two priority on the job.
• Work with the Purchasing Department in maintaining appropriate inventory of repair parts.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all equipment used by PSI and sister companies, including brakes, transmissions, electronics, pumps, hydraulics, fuel injectors, suspensions, and electrical systems.
• Develop, maintain, and keep an accurate record of a Preventive Maintenance Schedule on each piece of equipment used by the companies.
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of the building and grounds.
• Secure high value items to prevent theft.
• Perform and keep record of periodic inspections.
• Respond to emergency repair calls as needed.
• Abide by all Standard Operating Procedures.
• Facilitate effective communications including procedures for equipment repairs, "red tagging," and returning repaired equipment back into inventory.
• Ensure that all equipment is in proper working condition before it leaves the shop.
• Encourage a "team approach" atmosphere; maintain a positive, respectful, and professional attitude; contribute to the "continuous improvement" philosophy; perform other duties as deemed necessary.
• Maintain positive customer, vendor, and coworker relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with a strong understanding of heavy equipment repair.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using various hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
