Key Responsibilities:

The Production Manager will be tasked with leading and coordinating daily activities across various departments, including Machining, MRB Engineering, Finishing, and Assembly. This role requires collaboration with multiple teams such as quality assurance, materials management, packaging, shipping, engineering, and human resources to meet production goals effectively.

Essential Duties:
  • Oversee daily operations in machining, assembly, and finishing.
  • Make informed personnel decisions regarding hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions in line with company policies.
  • Manage and monitor operational expenses.
  • Utilize leader standard work to ensure effective management practices.
  • Track and assess departmental KPIs, including productivity, efficiency, labor hours, and equipment utilization.
  • Set clear priorities for team activities.
  • Evaluate both equipment and workforce capacity.
  • Communicate with relevant departments when expectations are not met.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving efforts.
  • Ensure quality assurance by investigating non-conformances and leading corrective actions.
  • Mentor and train team members on departmental procedures.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to promote communication and collaboration.
  • Enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) through routine audits and updates.
  • Lead the development and execution of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Champion lean manufacturing principles and process improvements.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with company objectives and policies.
  • Provide training and allocate resources for the development of CNC machinists, Finishing Technicians, and Assemblers.
  • Schedule and prioritize customer orders effectively.
  • Utilize performance management processes to guide staff development and evaluate performance.
  • Address daily operational issues and monitor performance against plans.
  • Ensure quality inspections of all work in progress and final products.
  • Authorize staffing allocations for production needs.
  • Support staff in managing their responsibilities and achieving team objectives.
  • Fill in for production leads as necessary.
  • Foster a departmental culture that emphasizes Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred experience in process development or engineering.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing processes and methodologies.
  • Supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience with machining metals and plastics is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CNC machine tools is beneficial.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant technical experience, with at least three years in a supervisory role is preferred.
