General Summary:
The Pharmacist Float is responsible for interpreting and assessing physician orders to prepare and dispense the correct medications to patients. This role involves managing the drug therapy of patients effectively.
It is essential to review, access, and maintain patient medication records, including profiles for allergies, potential drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications, ensuring a high standard of patient care and appropriate medication management.
The Pharmacist Float will provide essential information to physicians, nursing staff, and patients. Additionally, this position may involve assisting in the development of departmental competencies.Supervision of pharmacy technicians in their distributive tasks and departmental operations will be conducted under the guidance of the pharmacy operations manager and the director of pharmacy.
The performance in this role should reflect efforts to enhance patient satisfaction, reduce costs, and improve overall quality of care.This position supports the Mission of Trinity Health and the values upheld by Holy Cross Hospital.
