Job Summary

The Program Director, Physical Therapist Assistant, is a key leadership position at San Jacinto College. This individual will oversee the management and administration of the Physical Therapist Assistant program, ensuring its continued accreditation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer the Physical Therapist Assistant program, including planning, evaluation, budgeting, and faculty/staff selection.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the field of physical therapy and have pedagogic skills appropriate for students.
  • Contribute to the community of scholars and represent the College in the community.
  • Maintain current knowledge of CAPTE standards and complete all accreditation reporting.
  • Conduct meetings with faculty and convey information between departments, divisions, and the College as needed.
  • Lead and maintain curriculum within the program.
  • Assess student learning outcomes, program assessment, and other related reports needed for accreditation.
  • Provide feedback to faculty for performance reviews and assist with obtaining part-time faculty as needed.
  • Demonstrate the values of San Jacinto College as expected of all employees.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a Master's Degree awarded by an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • A minimum of five years (or equivalent) of full-time, post-licensure experience, including a minimum of three years (or equivalent) of full-time clinical experience within any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience.
  • A Physical Therapist licensed to practice in the state of Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with the neurological and/or pediatric population.

The salary for this position is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. Benefits include a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement plan.
