Geotechnical Area Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Area Engineer to join our team at Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions. As a Geotechnical Area Engineer, you will be responsible for providing geotechnical support on multiple project types, including transportation and infrastructure projects, big box developments, and multi-family developments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform geotechnical evaluations using standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Make interpretations, decisions, and recommendations based on laboratory and field test report results.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports for projects.
  • Utilize local and remote staff to accomplish work tasks and develop staff employees.
  • Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for task assignments.
  • Review recommendations with project designated Principal Consultant and/or Chief Engineer.
  • Engage and maintain client relationships and develop new project opportunities.
  • Attend client site meetings and communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited engineering school and Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • California P.E. License and ability to obtain reciprocity in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and Idaho as needed.
  • Proficient in GeoStudio, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, Plaxis, Midas, SLIDE, Settle3D, and MSEW software.
  • Ability to work off shifts and overtime.
