About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Developer to join our team at Synechron. As a key member of our database team, you will be responsible for designing, documenting, creating, and maintaining data structures for complex business data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement efficient database solutions using SQL.
  • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Provide environmental support and escalate issues to other DBA groups as needed.
  • Perform database tuning and performance analysis using standard tools.
  • Support development and QA teams through their development life cycles.
  • Help resolve and escalate issues to successfully deliver projects on time, on budget, and with quality.
  • Adhere to industry standards for best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience using SQL in application development and database administration.
  • Expertise in SQL, including complex multi-table joins, nesting, and correlation.
  • Ability to design, document, create, and maintain data structures for complex business data.
  • Ability to provide environmental support and escalate issues to other DBA groups.
  • Ability to grasp and understand business context and become an expert in the underlying business data.
  • Confidence in dealing with administration of development environments and working with other DBAs for higher environments.
  • Team player with the ability to work with developers in multiple technologies to assist in impact analysis, design, and implementation of SQL queries and performance.
  • Experience working with QA teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with COBOL programming and knowledge of VSAM/GDG file system setup.
  • Ability to analyze and write COBOL stored procedures.
  • Experience with JCL setup and modification.
  • Knowledge of OPC job scheduling and ability to handle one-time job runs.
