We are seeking a part-time Residential Assistant to join our team at Exodus/Maya Angelou House in West Virginia.

Job Summary:

The Residential Assistant will provide monitoring and oversight of residential/transitional housing facilities and residents. This role requires a strong understanding of substance abuse and mental health issues, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform room checks and hourly house walk-throughs to ensure resident safety and well-being
  • Assist residents in preparing meals and maintaining a clean living environment
  • Monitor resident compliance with rules and regulations, and provide documentation and communication logs as needed
  • Respond to crisis situations or medical emergencies, and report to management and on-call staff
  • Provide supervision of the facility and residents during assigned shift, maintaining safety and security
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as medication management and personal care
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in social services, preferably in addiction or mental health treatment
  • CPR/First Aid certification, AED certification, Food Handler's License, Crisis Intervention training, and a valid Driver's License
Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, working Friday and Saturday nights from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and sit or stand for long periods.
