Medical Assistant

The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant - Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide administrative and clinical support to enable the seamless operation of our outpatient oncology clinic.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients and staff members
- Greet and interview patients to gather health history, take vital signs, and review current medications
- Maintain accurate patient medical records and schedule appointments
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physician
- Manage patient care flow and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support patient education efforts and provide administrative knowledge
- Assist with inventory organization and stocking of exam rooms and labs
- Provide support to pharmacy department, including processing prescriptions and preparing medications
- High school graduate or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Diploma program from an accredited educational institute
- Medical Assistant Certificate preferred, not required
- 2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant or related position in an outpatient clinic/medical office setting
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification preferred
This position involves prolonged periods of standing and walking, performance of precise tasks, and occasionally, lifting of up to 50 pounds. Clear vision and acute hearing are essential for reading charts and monitoring patients.
